After 9 years of hosting an annual golf classic, we announced yesterday that we will not be hosting the Jason Richardson Golf Classic this year. In the past nine years we have been able to raise more than $198,000 thanks to the support from Jason Richardson, his foundation and our incredible community members. Although we won't be hosting the golf outing this year, we look forward to working with Jason and his foundation again in the future.

This year United Way of Saginaw County received a "challenge" from our friends at The Dow Chemical Company. If we could get enough community leaders to step up and give a donation at one of our leadership levels or if they were already giving at a leadership level to increase their gift to the next level, then The Dow Chemical Company would provide a match of $25,000.

The employees at Amigo Mobility outdid themselves again this year! United Way and READ Association presented to their staff and two Amigo volunteers spoke about why they support United Way and volunteer in the community. In addition to their employee contributions, Amigo had a special event when employees could wear jeans and either MSU or U of M attire for the day before the rivalry game if they donated $3 to United Way. We could not ask all of our dedicated companies to run employee campaigns without running one ourselves. This year our internal campaign was coordinated by our newest staff member, Kimberly German. Kimberly researched the best practices lists, surveyed some of our campaign coordinators and came up with some fun internal campaign ideas.
