Allocation Process
Here is a brief overview of how United Way works -

United Way of Saginaw County is able to function because of dedicated community members, like you, who make their voices heard. Every two years UWSC partnering agencies must submit an updated RFP (Request for Funding Proposal) for each of their United Way funded programs. In order to make sure these programs are doing the best jobs possible and being run the way the community wants and needs them to be, UWSC asks for community members to help with this process.
Community members then volunteer their time by sitting on one of the four community impact panels. Volunteers are responsible for reading over the submitted RFP's while they work with other panel members to decide which funds can be distributed to which programs, based on annual fundraising campaign results.
This is a great opportunity to make your voice heard, to advocate for the community and the issues that matter to you, and to find out what great things are happening in your Saginaw County community.
If you are interested in serving as an allocation process volunteer and deciding where your donated dollars would make the most impact, please contact Marsha Cooley for more information.
