3rd Annual Step Up for United Way Indoor Marathon

To help United Way of Saginaw County reach the $2.6 million goal, there will be an indoor marathon held at the YMCA Saginaw (1915 Fordney) on Saturday, December 5, 2009.

Businesses, organizations and individuals are encouraged to "Step Up" for United Way by dedicating their participation in the indoor marathon. Participants can register in groups or as individuals. They can complete the marathon by:

• Run/Walk 26.2 miles on a YMCA Treadmill
• Run/Walk 26.2 miles on a YMCA Cross Trainer
• Swim 3.5 miles in the YMCA Pool
• Bike 50 miles on a YMCA Bike

Whichever way the participant(s) choose to step up, United Way of Saginaw County stands to benefit from the moneys raised.

Participants are asked to secure pledges of support from friends, family members, coworkers and sponsors. There will be an entry fee of:

• $500 for business' teams (or raise at least $2,500)
• $100 for an organizations' teams (or raise at least $500)
• $50 for an individual (or raise at least $250)

*Please note that entry fees may be waived if business, organization or individual raises at least the desired amount in pledges.
