United Way of Saginaw County Student Service Award
United Way would like to recognize the dedicated Valley Lutheran High School Key Club members who have given back to their community over the course of their high school career. In order for a key club member, graduating in 2010, to receiver the prestigious Student Service Award, the student must have recorded 75 hours of service and meet the service guidelines:
- Sophomore year (September 1, 2007 through August 30, 2008) - 25 hours
- Junior year (September 1, 2008 through August 30, 2009) - 25 hours
- Senior year (September 1, 2009 through April 15, 2010) - 25 hours
- Hours will not be counted for church, school or individual volunteering. United Way of Saginaw County Volunteer Services will make the initial determination if the service qualifies for the award requirements. All service hours must be recorded on the 1-800-volunteer.org website.
Once a student has completed their 75 hours of service to the community, they can fill out the Student Service Award Application Sheet. The form must be filled out and submitted to United Way by Thursday, April 15, 2010. After application review, the student will be notified by United Way staff on the status of their award. (Please note - the 2010 students will NOT need to complete an evaluation form or essay to receive their award.)
