Last week, Michigan State Senator Ken Horn visited the Saginaw YMCA's after school STEM program (for more information on the Americorps STEM program, click here). These programs operate at over 10 locations throughout Saginaw County. Students attending this after school STEM session participated in activities that demonstrated the chemical household properties, such as soap. We believe programs such as these are vital to the community. By providing opportunities for students to participate in engaging activities, we can foster an environment of lifelong curiosity and learning that will ultimately benefit the community by producing individuals who use their skills and education to give back to the community. Through engaging with our local, state, and national leaders, we hope to influence policy to highlight the purpose behind our programs.
