National 2-1-1 Day

Did you know that today (February 11) is National 2-1-1 Day? 2-1-1 provides a great resource for our community. If you have an issue or need (utility assistance, transportation, free tax preparation, food assistance, etc.) and are unsure where to turn, simply dial 2-1-1 and a trained professional will help you find the resources you need. The 2-1-1 Northeast Michigan Call Center's Comprehensive Information and Referral program is one of our affiliated programs helping us reach our health vision; individuals and families will live a healthy lifestyle.

Homelessness Down in Saginaw County

At the Monday night Saginaw City Council meeting, Jeremy Reinert, United Way of Saginaw County Homeless Management Information System Administrator, presented a 5 year Point in Tome (PIT) trend report on homeless statistics in Saginaw County. Based on data collected, since 2011 the number of homeless individuals in Saginaw County fell 21 percent. Homeless prevention programs were credited for the reduction in numbers. This year's PIT count is scheduled for January 26. Thank you to all our community partners who play a key role in reducing homelessness in Saginaw County.

Best Practices Nonprofit Certicate Program - 2.26.16

Our Best Practices Nonprofit Certificate program will be starting on February 26. This program is designed for nonprofit managers or members of a nonprofit board of directors and provides all participants with the tools, techniques and industry information to help them overcome challenges in the nonprofit world. Even better, scholarships are available to qualifying participants! We always look forward to partnering with Saginaw Valley State University as we provide helpful resources for our local nonprofit organizations.
