Due to the inclement weather our office will be closed on Monday, February 2. Additionally our VITA , free tax preparation site at Butman-Fish Library will also be closed. The office and our VITA sites will open on Tuesday, February 3.

Saginaw County residents are encouraged to attend our 4th annual Show Me the Money Day event on Saturday, January 31. The event will be hosted at Tuscola Education Center (1000 Tuscola St., Saginaw) and registration begins at 8:30 a.m. Workshops will begin at 9 a.m. and feature topics such as banking basics, home improvement grants, home ownership/maintenance, help with employment, open enrollment for health insurance, financial empowerment, Consumers' CARE program and much more.

Once again, United Way is hard at work planning for the 2014 VITA tax season. This program aims to help families avoid high tax preparation fees, access all credits they are eligible for and connect families to services and programs that will help them increase their financial stability. Our VITA program has been very successful for many years thanks to the help of our dedicated volunteers. With your help, this program could be even more successful! We have a critical need for individuals to serve as volunteer tax preparers.
Our Holiday Wish List program had successfully helped families have a brighter holiday season since 1985. We cannot say thank you enough to our donors and advocates who made the program such a success throughout the years. As our organization continues to grow and expand, and as we focus on our community-driven goals in the areas of health, education and financial stability, we continually evaluate the programs we faciliatate.
