VITA sites closed 2.3.15

Two VITA sites were scheduled to be open today, one at Butman-Fish Library and one at Frankenmuth Credit Union-Town and Country Branch (Saginaw). Unfortunately both of those sites will be closed on Tursday, February 3, 2015.

It is our policy that if the Public School Districts are closed due to weather related conditions; the VITA sites in that district are closed as well. The safety of our volunteers and tax payers is our number one concern. We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause and hope to have sites open tomorrow.

You've survived Black Friday and Cyber Monday - now join in the #GivingTuesday fun. Giving Tuesday is a national initiative designed to start the giving season. We encourage you to join the movement by giving to help your local community. Whether you give a monetary donation or pledge a few hours of your time, each gift creates a lasting impact within our community.

Volunteer Income Tax Assistance (VITA) program - Volunteers Needed

Once again, United Way is hard at work planning for the 2014 VITA tax season. This program aims to help families avoid high tax preparation fees, access all credits they are eligible for and connect families to services and programs that will help them increase their financial stability. Our VITA program has been very successful for many years thanks to the help of our dedicated volunteers. With your help, this program could be even more successful! We have a critical need for individuals to serve as volunteer tax preparers.
