STEM AmeriCorps

Growing a Generation Engaged in Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics

The STEM AmeriCorps program (STEM Corps) places 20 AmeriCorps members at sites throughout Saginaw County. STEM Corps members are helping to enhance youth skills in Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics. Our goal is to make these subjects more appealing to area youth when deciding on a major in college or a future career path.

STEM Corps members are expected to complete 900 hours through the course of one year. During their term of service, members will receive a living allowance of $500 per month.  After successfully completing the required amount of hours under the terms of service, STEM Corps members will also receive an Education Award of $2,960, which can be used toward past student loans or future education endeavors. STEM Corps members will also receive regular training and professional development opportunities throughout the year, as well as experience working first hand with youth, schools and organizations throughout Saginaw County.

Any person interested in becoming a STEM Corps member should send a resume to Program Director, Brook Rehmann.

Any organizations interested in hosting a STEM Corps member should contact Brook at their earliest convenience - via email or phone, (989) 755-0505, ext. 225.
