Community leaders set the pace for United Way and help kick-off their giving campaign

At their campaign kick-off Thursday evening, United Way announced their annual fundraising campaign will start with more than $340,680 already raised.

Covenant HealthCare, Hemlock Semiconductor and Yeo & Yeo CPAs & Business Consultants served as the 2011 pacesetter companies and ran their workplace campaigns before the traditional United Way kick-off event. The pacesetter companies set the pace and lead the way for others in our community to follow.

“Yeo & Yeo is pleased to be one of the three pacesetter companies for the 2011 United Way of Saginaw County campaign,” said John Kunitzer, Yeo & Yeo President/CEO and 2011 United Way Campaign Chair. “The firm’s culture has always been to be very active and supportive of our community programs. By being a pacesetter we are able to demonstrate that commitment to our community. This year, employees again met and surpassed our goal for United Way. We are grateful to the community to evaluate the needs and administer the funds,” said Kunitzer.

United Way kicked-off their campaign in partnership with the Saginaw County Chamber’s Business After Hours event. More than 250 community leaders joined the celebration at the Andersen Enrichment Center. The cost of the event was underwritten by Covenant HealthCare, The Dow Chemical Company and Yeo & Yeo.

On Saturday, September 17, United Way will continue kicking-off their giving season during the Project Independence Annual Blitz Build. Labor partners will build and install 10 mobility ramps throughout Saginaw County.
