United Way of Saginaw County – Selling 50/50 raffle tickets at the Saginaw Spirit Game – Just a few spots left

  • Saturday, February 26th – 5pm until the end of the 3rd period of the game
  • 10-12 volunteers are needed to sell 50/50 for United Way of Saginaw County at the Saginaw Spirit Game.
  • Volunteer will walk around the arena with handheld ticket machines. All machines will be assigned 2 or more people.
  • Anyone who is under 18 must be with a partner over the age of 18.

**New Date** SC-CHAP (Saginaw County – Consortium of Homeless Assistance Providers/United Way of Saginaw County – 2022 Annual Homeless PIT (Point in Time) Count Volunteers Needed!

  • The PIT (Point-In-Time) Count is an annual count of sheltered and unsheltered people who are experiencing homelessness on a single night in our community. Similar counts will be occurring in every community across the United States the last week of January (now late February). Counts are carried out by staff and volunteers who conduct surveys that allow people who are experiencing homelessness to express their specific needs and housing status.   • Volunteers are needed on February 23rd, 2022 for the day count (10am-3pm) or the night count (6pm-10pm)
  • Volunteers must be willing to work in teams, willing to outreach to potential homeless individuals, check in abandoned buildings, under bridges, etc.

Partnership Center – Multiple dates and tasks available

  • Sorting & organizing donations
  • Assisting previously homeless clients with picking out items from donation bank
  • Cleaning/janitorial work

Children’s Grief Center – Peer Support Grief Group volunteers & 5k race volunteers needed

  • Are you a good listener? Volunteers are needed for peer support grief groups. As a volunteer, you’ll receive all the  training needed to support this program. Grief groups will meet 2 nights per month per school year in Saginaw, Midland & Bay City. Plus other support programs will run in the Summer.
  • Grit Your Grief 5k – volunteers needed to lend a helping hand

First Hospice Care – Volunteer Senior Citizen Companions Needed

  • Two senior citizen companions are needed
    • *Pending Companion* – Senior Citizen would like a companion with Christian values and enjoys socializing and having meaningful conversations to visit with her 3 times a week in the morning or early afternoon. She is very pleasant and loves people. She doesn’t mind if her companion is female or male but prefers someone who doesn’t curse or drink alcohol.
    • *Pending Companion* – Senior Citizen would like a weekly companion for 2-3 hours to help with grocery shopping, errands, laundry, etc for about 2 months and prefers a female companion
  • Interested in becoming a senior companion with a future opportunity? Just let me know and I can connect you to the coordinator.
  • Please note, because of the nature of these opportunities. . . a United Way COVID release form will need to be signed and a background check will be preformed by First Hospice Care. 

Temple Theatre – Saginaw Silver Screen Movie Series

  • When: Now – May 2022 – Multiples dates to choose from
  • Volunteers are needed to help usher, welcome & assist guests before and after the show and help with some clean up 
  • Volunteers who have a can-do spirit and have an interest in movies and the arts. . . this is a great fit.

East Side Soup Kitchen

  • When: Monday – Friday but especially Thursdays
  • Volunteers are needed to help prep for upcoming meals, serve meals, assist in the dining room and prep to-go boxes, etc

American Red Cross – Administrative Volunteer, Blood Transporter, Veteran Affairs Volunteer, Blood Donor Ambassador

  • Administrative Assistance volunteer
